Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is commonly used to offer assistance with difficulties that you are experiencing. We all have unique ways of coping with difficult experiences. Natalie offers a confidential, warm, non-judgmental environment where she works collaboratively with you to determine a unique solution to assist you with your needs. Living in a small town brings many concerns regarding confidentiality as at times there is a fear of stigma and that others may discover you are attending therapy. The location of the office offers privacy, and a confidential service is provided. One of the first aspects of our meeting is discussing confidentiality so you can ensure you understand how confidentiality works. The first (and sometimes second) session is an assessment session to begin to understand your concerns and how she may help. The following sessions are when treatment typically begins, and all treatment provided is evidence-based.
Psychological Assessment
Psychologists have specific unique training to conduct assessments. Natalie has experience in psychological assessments, diagnostic assessments, developmental assessments, cognitive assessments, and personality assessments. Assessments include an initial interview, several assessment sessions, a feedback session, and a written report. If you require an assessment please get in touch with Natalie directly to discuss how she may be able to assist.
Child Assessment & Therapy
Working with children is different than working with adults as there needs to be a lot of communication with significant people in the child’s home and other important environments such as school. It is a holistic approach as children rely on adults to provide a safe environment and clear boundaries. An evidence-based approach is always used and incorporating the parents into the therapy is essential for success. Developmental and cognitive assessments can be completed if required. Natalie has extensive experience working with children with a variety of concerns including behavioural concerns, trauma, depression, anxiety, social difficulties, and more.
Youth Assessment & Therapy
Working with youth is different than working with adults or children as youth are learning to be more independent, yet continue to rely on their parents for support. This can be a difficult developmental stage to navigate and Natalie works closely with the youth for the majority of the therapy sessions. Natalie has extensive experience working with youth experiencing difficulties such as relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more.
Telehealth
It can be difficult to attend sessions in person at times due to many factors. Please contact Natalie directly to determine if you are hoping to attend sessions via telehealth. Depending on your location you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate with telehealth sessions. If you choose to use telehealth it is important to have a good internet connection and a private place when the session occurs.
Clinical Supervision
Natalie has experience in supervising people from various disciplines including allied health, counselling, and more. Many supervisees seek supervision to improve their self-care, work-life balance, clinical skills, and knowledge to support their professional roles. She has experience working in multi-disciplinary settings which may assist in bringing a unique understanding of difficulties faced in other disciplines.
Provisional Psychologists
Natalie completed board-approved training in 2018 and she is passionate about assisting provisional psychologists throughout the final years of their journey to general registration. She completed the 4+2 pathway many years ago and recalls the difficulties she experienced while facing the unique challenges of this pathway. Natalie found her relationship with the supervisor and the clinical skills she developed within this relationship to be critical to completing the internship successfully. Learning from her own experiences and training she aims to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental environment that contributes to a safe place to develop your clinical skills. Natalie provides supervision to provisional psychologists completing internship programs.
Group Training
Natalie has significant experience in offering professional development to teams across many disciplines who are seeking to understand more about topics such as mental health, suicide, trauma, and more. If you are seeking to book group training for a specific topic, please contact Natalie directly to discuss if she can assist in offering training in the specific area you want to learn more about.
